A ghost story is traditional as the Christmas holiday season approaches.
This video was recently filmed at the atmospheric Grovely Woods near Wilton, UK where four gnarled old trees relate to a particular haunting story.
The music is 'rune ritual' from my album 'The Mystery of Runes'.

Last week on my way to get footage of the local river I came across Falconhigh at Brambridge.
Here is a short video based on impromtu filming.

Last week I assisted Carrie Searley of ASSAP (Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena) in filming A Touch of Glass at Bakerlane Records where the owner Daniel Baker explained that some strange things had been going on. Here is a brief taster of some of the footage that I took.

Spent a great afternoon canoeing with Christine and 4 other brave souls on Beaulieu River.
Stu from Liquid Logistics made sure we were safe in the two canoes that were strapped together to ensure stability. There was rain, sun and wildlife. The music is a re-edit from a previous piece on Buckler's Hard which is just down the river from where we set off.
I used an older compact camera (in case of extreme wetness) so the video is in 4:3 format.

I see a new DVD box collection of the Star Wars movies has been released - Star Wars: The Complete Saga.
Years ago I did artwork for the videogame of 'The Return of the Jedi' here in the UK.
I remember reading about the first movie in a film magazine when I was a student, don't think anyone at that time realised how huge it was going to be.
More of my videogame covers can be seen in the Illustration section..

Went hill walking over the weekend with other like minded lovers of vistas and 'Hangers'. The name 'Hanger' comes from the Old English 'hangra' meaning trees on a steep hill.

Today is Equinox when the day and night are of nearly equal length. Here in the Northern hemisphere it is the Vernal Equinox and has long been celebrated as a time of rebirth and the start of Spring. At the weekend I visited St, Mary's Church in the village of Michelmersh where the signs of Spring were abundant.

This weekend I was able to meet up with 'Guru Craig' in The New Forest, close to the bewitching village of Burley, UK. Craig Hamilton-Parker does an excellent acting job in this parody of how people in revered positions are often blind to their obvious shortcomings.

Today is the 75th anniversary of the maiden flight of the Spitfire at Eastleigh Airport. The photo is of a Spitfire facsimile at the airport today.

Visited Salisbury in Wiltshire this Saturday. Once again one marvels at the astonishing Cathedral which is over 750 years old. Someone was practicing on the organ so I have made a short video of the experience.

After the long holiday season Craig joins our walking escapades once again. He is full of his normal good cheer as we walk from Steep, up Shoulder of Mutton Hill, down to Hawkley, back up the hill and finally downhill to Steep.

We drove to Beaulieu where a donkey showed too much interest in what was in the boot of the car. Then a short walk to Bucklers Hard along the river path. Bucklers Hard is an 18th Century hamlet that became a shipbuilding village in the 1740's, Admiral Nelson's favourite ship Agamemnon was built here.

A Sunday walk with Christine and Lynne from East Meon to Salt Hill.

A short circular walk today starting from Romsey Abbey taking in Squabb Wood and Roke Manor. I suggested we come back via Church Lane as some months ago we had previously met a nice cat there. Sure enough the cat was sitting on a fence and rushed over when we called. Neighbours said her name was Tinkerbell and not particularly friendly, but she liked us. The mud on Christine and Lynne's boots indicate what Squabb Wood was like.

Horrendously busy shops when buying presents you don't want to buy and no one in their right mind would like to receive! Buying mountains of food fit for a mediaeval siege! The gruelling task of writing cards to people who don't send you one! Endless travel delays. Nowhere to park. Yet you've just got to be happy and nice as it's Christmas. Then some guy phones you up and asks if you are making popcorn! It's enough to make you scream!
Merry Christmas!
